my Grandpa Tony (mom's step dad) was a Rambler man. Always had a Station Wagon, and my uncle and his sons have restored a couple of them and a Hardtop version of the above.
"You can eat off of it." Really. This thing is C-L-E-A-N! But I don't think the off set racing stripe is stock, is it? See if you can find a Marlin Jay. As I read somewhere it was Ramblers last ditch attempt to make a sporty car for the baby boomer generation.
Almost bought one of these. The reason I didn't was that my wife couldn't drive a 3-speed. It was Red with a White area that went from the rockers up to the beveled edge of the doors. That same dealer had a Rogue 2-door hardtop too. Both were 3 on the floor with factory bucket seats. He was asking $1,000.00 for each. Not bad for 1976!
Wow!! Cool pictures! Do cars of 1966 Rambler American 440 still exist? Those cars were really nice but at present people are switching to the electronic vehicle. As they are environmental friendly and requires less maintenance so people started preferring them than the gasoline or other fuel vehicles. Whatever may be the brand but a good maintenance can extend the life your car. Auto Body Shop Milwaukie, OR. Thanks for the photos.
There aren't enough electric vehicles being made for "people are switching". Electric vehicles only make up 20% or less of the vehicles being built today. That said, there are tons of old cars being traded, shown, and re-done. It will be another 20 years before cars are even 50/50 with electric cars. If nothing else, there are too many people out there who will not drive a piece of junk elec car - like me.
Nothing says "cool" like an off-center racing stripe.
