1985 Ford Mustang SVO

Everything wrong with the Mustang SVO (2.3liter-turbo-metric "Pinto" engine) makes the Mustang SVO sooo right.

  1. Awesome.

My dad bought one of these new, an '85 1/2 mid-year model that got uprated boost (210 hp I think?) and the flush, not-sealed-beam headlights. It was his first new car, he sold his 73 Charger SE for it. He loved it but my mom says to this day that the SVO was "a very fun piece of junk" and after an accident at around 70,000 miles it got t-boned and was never really repaired right. Shame. It was replaced by a g60 VW Corrado, which just goes to show my dad had good, if eccentric, taste in sports coupes back then.

This one has a beautiful mixture of patina and minor body damage that matches that big moody sky nicely. Great shots guys.

  2. Oh yeah - my favorite non-aerial biplane wing around.

  3. I'd love to have this car. Odd, nasty, skeevy, and multi-winged. Everything I look for in a car.
