1000th Post: 1964 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk

This exquisite ride belongs to Nathan and he was nice enough to chat about it. He picked it up in 1993 and has managed to hold on to it all these years despite owning many other Studebakers. It was a Sunday driver that he acquired from an old lady in Oceanside, CA. Nathan fired off more Hawk info than I can remember. This is the last (and best) year of the Hawk and Brooks Stevens' design is thought to have influenced the original (1964 1/2) Mustang. Nathan is planning some paintwork for his baby and noted that this is number 16xx of 1800 or so produced. Enjoy!  Here is a 1963 GT PEEPed by Bill.

  1. That's wild. The GT Hawk I peeped was accompanied by a chat with its owner as well. Who coincidentally has a few Studes.

  2. Well I'm definitely a fan of the Hawk line and this one sounds amazing, better be supercharged though. Definitely a best find of the year as far as I'm concerned, and well shot. White cars in a mix of sun and shadow=not easy.

  3. Thanks Ben. My pocket camera challenges me enough on its own, but the extreme amount of sun here in SD creates tough shooting situations 90% of the time. Not that i'm complaining about sunny days though.
