This isn't a '56. Judging from the bumpers, it's a '59 because the high front overrider bars were not used until late 1959. Also, the taillights are incorrect for a '56.I own a '59.
And, the earlier car would have a "shine down" rear plate light instead of the correct shine up light on this car.

Thanks for clarifying, Anon.The 356 is easily the most challenging car to accurately date. The subtleties from year to year are easy to miss.
